Chassis break is in the 1999 year but ECC 1999 is different than 1998. You probably need a 98 donor

I knew there was a change in 98-99 in the ECC, never heard of one on the servo motors though? Checking on Volvo websites they list the same motor from 93-04 on P80's. Yes the ECC units are different, and the blend motor on a 99 has a weird looking plastic round maze attached to the same motor. There are part number changes over the years, but I have used random ones from my stash on different year cars with no issues.

In 1999 the two blend door on the driver side was melded into one with a Rube Goldberg cam linkage , I believe?

Maybe the motors are the same, though?

Motors are the same. The plastic part is held on by a screw I think I recall. It all comes off to leave the same motor below. Just to be sure, I will double check the part numbers.

I thought the motors were the same too, but motors out of my ‘99 parts car (that worked fine when the car last got driven) refused to work in my ‘98. Put in a motor out of a ‘98 part out and it worked great.

The ECC out of a ‘99 will make a ‘98 power cycle with the key on. No bueno. You need a ‘98 module in a ‘98 car.
