DVD help?!

i just bought a 2008 XC90 yesturday. the salesman told me that i could play a DVD without the headphones (so that everyone in the car could hear the movie). Does anyone know how i can do that?

I didn't think the volvo dvd played through the car speakers! I checked the TEXT on the description carefully (lost confidence in the salesman when he told me the handsfree car kit would display the phone information on the car display .... IT DOESN'T) Hence, I sorted out my own dvd system. My kids don't like headphones...If the saleman has got it wrong and you can't play through the car speakers ...... it could be a major problem. If the volvo dvd player doesn't have an auxiliary OUTPUT of some sort ... I suspect it's game over. The volvo 'infotainment' thingy is a pain to link into.

I hope I am wrong!

Yes, the entertainment system offers DVD sound through the second seat speakers. We have a 2005 XC90 and only the rear speakers transmit the DVD sound. The front speakers still transmit the stereo/CD sound which can be somewhat annoying.
