Kat stranded me today. Slight surging as I pulled up the hill the one mile to the train station, then dropped to an idle amd stalled just as I pulled into 25A major route. Pushed to side.

Cranks m fires , rough idle , then stalls. Feels the poor fuel delivery problem. Hope the pump hasn’t come loose.

Got the solid tow bar out and recovered it home Have to travel out of town this weekend so no time to diagnose until next week

Flashers ran battery out in 15 minutes, 5 year old battery.

2004 V70- Replaced both rear door pistons and then leaky power steering hoses. Still to tackle electrical quirk and window regulator.

Moved the 850 to the yard next to the driveway. It'll stay there out of the salt for the winter.

Went to the JY today to try and grab a set of Amaltheas for her wagon (She liked the look of them), as an S60 just dropped this past week, but no joy. The clearcoat on all 4 was toast, so not worth it.

I went to look at the couple of XC90's on the yard, to maybe score a couple good Neptunes, but no wheels on one, and the other looks to have been crushed already.

We've had the Perfos on her car since the since the flat and finding another damaged tire (Nokian Z-Lines) on the Neptunes last year.
The tires on the Perfos are getting worn and we still have 2 good (80%) Nokians residing on Neptunes in the garage. I'd rather just get 2 new Nokians and toss 17's on the car, instead of buying new tires for the 16's.

Guess we'll keep looking for now.

After 24 years, the soft rubber insert on my shifter knob decided to self destruct.

After researching how to remove the knob, I concluded that there isn't any practical way to do it. I'm guessing the knob is molded on?
I do wonder why they weren't screw on knobs.

Regardless, I actually had a spare shifter assembly from an 850 that worked perfectly in my s70 (no surprise). Slightly different design but fit and functions the same.

Replacement was easy but took a while. I followed Robert's videos on how to remove shifter assembly. He filmed his videos on a parts car that already had seats and a lot of trim removed. He had a lot more room than I did. :D

But job is done and I no longer have sharp plastic and metal scraping my fingers when I shift.

Update. Flights out west today for Moms funeral service but last night put the battery on deep, charge and this morning Kat started easily and ran great for 30 minutes. Maybe just a 5 year end of life battery problem

Stay tuned

Yesterday I finally moved the R into the old garage for winter storage. Now just have to dust it and get the covers and trickle charge onto it!
