Hi
I've replaced the upper and lower right engine mounts. But I can still feel vibrations from the enginge. Is there anything else that can transfer vibrations to the chassi besides engine mounts?
Is the next step to replace the two big enginge mounts underneath the engine? I don't think the are hydraulic on my car?
Any help is appreciated

If the vibrations are felt UNDER LOAD only look to your front CV axles first. Replace with new GKN/Lobro or low mileage used GKN/Lobro. All the Chinese and remanufactured CV axles are subpar and have dismal lifespans.

I’m going to assume that the vibes exist at idle, both in gear and in neutral, and not just while driving.
One way to help determine if the problem is a motor mount is to place a jack under the oil pan with a short length of 2x4 or 2x6 between the jack and oil pan to distribute the load to the outer edges of the pan. Then raise the jack just enough to lift the majority of the engine weight off of the mounts. Set the parking brake firmly and start the engine. Do the vibes diminish at all? You can firmly hold the brake pedal and put it in drive and reverse In order to compare the in-gear vibration level between the engine sitting full weight on the mounts and the weight on the mounts being reduced.

I didn't find time this weekend to try more but I summarized everythind so far
- excessice vibrations are present at all rpm:s
- vibrations are linked to engine rpm, not vehicle speed
- vibrations are worse at 1600 - 2000 rpm, probably due to resonace
- alternator one way pulley might be siezed
- steering servo pump are vibrating at some extent but that might be normal.
- I can feel vibrations in the steering servo line that goes from the pump down under the enginge
- vibrations are worse when engine is cold
- vibrations still exists when engine is up to temperature after a couple of minuter
- vibrations are less when engine has been hot for an hour och if I park an hour or two
- based on that I suspect some components that is connected to or placed close to the engine
I think my next step is to remove the drive belt and drive the car without alternator, sttering pump etc connecten. Next is to lift the engine some and se if releasing pressure on the engine mounts has any effect.
Based on the information above, any new conclusions or tips?

Tonights drive:
20 min drive - vibrations clearly felt around 1800rpm
50 min car parked
20 min drive home - vibrations significally less obvious.
My conclusion is that something in the perimeter of the enginge is causing the vibrations. And when that part got heated up vibrations almost disappears.
My strongest candidates are still steering pump or alternator.

You have to change all 5 motor mounts if you want less vibration, yes those two really hard to replace acorn mounts. Also a shot control arm and struts will also send vibration.
Took a drive today without the belt. Vibrations are almost non existing without the belt. Alternator clutch though is rock solid. I guess that one has to be replaced. A/C compressor and steering pump runs free. Some axial play in the servo pump. Should I replace that to

I know this post was several years old but I have same problems volvo v70 with engine excessive vibrations at idle--my other volvo car s60 same year with same engine do not vibrate at all -and they have same engine-is not he engine mounts it is some engine itself that shakes -Did you find out what was the vibrations cause on your car-that may help me narrow down the problem ?
