Maybe it’s just the comfort baffle that’s flipped off?

That’s the knob that redirects warm air away from the center vent 😀

I watched an interesting Wheeler Dealers recently where an upholsterer in the UK was repairing a similar issue on a car. He used a small drill bit to drill through the backing card from the back and then injecting small amounts of glue with a syringe and needle through the holes. He then glued the vinyl back little by little to get it back to looking good. Markomojo.com
