'04 V2.5t CEM Possibly Fried, fails the first validation phase

Post by Volvonutt »

2004 V702.5T AWD Trying to install CEM update part# 30677017

First time doing a module update & NATURALLY  I randomly picked the CEM out of the three module updates I was going to do to be first!!
Welp I'm 30hrs into my 3 day lic, first install run(yesterday) got to 60 % and car went dark and Vida said vehicle failed upload.

At this point Vida says I fail the first validation phase(key position, batt charged over 12v, etc etc) which is at the 5 or 8% threshold of the module install. Done this probably 15-20 times over the last 24 hrs using Dice & Mongoose cables. cleared my cache, used wireless and cat7 ethernet for the file download. Used diff usb cable on the dice.

Both Dice and vDash can not read car without me inputting the VIN. Car is dark, DIM is dark, CEM seems....???(I'm out of my league here)

PLEASE for the love of VOLVO does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you in advance for the help!

Yeah, VIDA Online is extremely buggy. I bricked wife's XC60 once. I was able to recover it partially, drove to dealer and let him fix the rest (it was still under warranty).

When I asked Volvo HQ: "WTF?" they replied: "You don't update a car made by us unless you have to".

You need to clone your CEM. Hopefully the config block is not erased, otherwise the CEM firmware has to be configured manually for your car, which is more labor intensive.
