The Kat, my 1999 AWD has that same cool stance , lowered a bit in the front. It’s stock front and back.

Mine is crouching, if course

Purchased a set of TRW rear trunk struts from eBay.
.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/404330259006
.
Struggled to installed them as the hook was too small. Not one to waste shipping on the seller's dime we agreed to a refund of half the price and I would try to make it work by enlarging the hook, to which he did not recommend. Smart of him to cover his bases.

After trying and trying and method after method I finally snapped the hook in the center. Remembering the hook was a twist on I thought perhaps the Volvo one would also. The Volvo hook is hard but not brittle like the TRW from the feel of it. Of course the Volvo would have course thread while the TRW very fine. The difficult part was threading the TRW to the Volvo clip otherwise it snapped right in without tools. It took 2.5 hours to break one and about 20 minutes to install the other and that's due to the threading of the hook.

Don't have to be cautious and can use the trunk again while parked on a grade. BTW - The Volvo OEM strut is made by Stabilus which FCP carries.
.
The OE were installed with the clip opening pointing upwards so I have to use a closet rod for leverage to push the old ones down. It was easier to push up to hand push upwards to reinstall. I broke the TRW trying to install it.

Due to the recent acquisition of the 09 S60 2.5T AWD and soon 02 V70 XC the herd is running out of pasture. Just so happens Son's friend has been looking for a daily and for sometime so it might be today.

The majors are done and he is willing to finish the detail work:
.
Install front struts I will provide and he to purchase new strut mount and strut bearings.
Repair the audio system as only driver's speaker works. Good thing he is an AV specialist.
Install new front and rear rotors and pads from FCP purchased sometime ago.
Install wire loom for the coil wire and various other harness under the hood.
Install the new strut brace from OBX recently purchased.
Install the 2 front sub frame poly inserts from IPD. The back 2 poly went in with the C70 U sub frame chassis brace.
I'm sure there might a few more little things here and there otherwise Son said he really enjoyed driving it from VA to NC.
.
Blessings,

BKM

I was hoping to do the paperwork today but Son's friend needs about 2 weeks. Now I have to look at it everyday and my Son and I really, really like the style of the car so will make it harder to part with  . Son has been using it for over a month so he doesn't mind it as his daily and is second to the 03 S80 T6 that he use to drive. The third is the 05 GS430 needing a starter which is in line for repair. We hope he will be able to take the 09 S60 2.5T AWD back to school this week. Interior is out for complete carpet, seats and interior cleaning.

The S70 was going to be my daily so was taking my time to make this Stage 0 & plus. One of his friends calls it the DeLorean  . Others don't know the Make.

Friend told me he has plenty of room on his 10 acres. Only 1 home per 10 acres due to the leach field / septic requirement. Unfortunately, the barn (it's true) is full so they have to stay outdoors. Tough to sheer them outdoors  in the cold.

Car slid on black ice last evening around a right turn last evening. I think the car is totaled from the preliminary photos sent me? What do you think the insurance might pay out?

I have found that a herd left outside is subject to poaching.

Hope everyone is all right, and just had an unexpected slide.

Re the insurance company; I think you might get a little more than you might think, because the insurance companies want these " old " cars off the road. They see them as not being as safe as newer cars, and more importantly, they aren't easily connectable to the grid like new cars. Ultimately they want to know your driving habits, conditions, and where you mostly drive, so they can charge you accordingly. Our old Volvo's don't quite fit. Luckily.
So maybe $ 800 - 1000 ?
