Easy enough to unplug the front sensors and measure across the pins. Open is not good. Even if the ends of the sensors have picked up some debris they should still read the same as the rears.
Yeah that's simple enough but I doubt that's the issue. I'm more worried I'll need to trace a break in the harness and if it comes to that I might just go with a totally new run. Are there common places for the wiring to break? At first glance I'd think it's the part in between the bracket on the upright and where it first clips to the fender. Working on this since it's free, and my car budget went to shocks and related parts that are still en route.

Next major issue to tackle is power seems to cut at around 5k rpm, like it bogs down for 0.3-0.5s and shifts up. (T-5 A/T) What should it be like normally?

Definitely start with the sensors themselves. The connectors could be full of dirt and debris or simply degraded, or the sensors themselves could be bad. The pins in those connectors could come loose as well.

I replaced the two dipstick o-rings on my 2000 V70. Now the stick is held in the tube quite firmly. When I apply the significant force to pull out the stick, I think it splashes oil around, throwing off the dipstick reading. Has anyone experienced and solved this problem?

Just dab some oil on the o rings and it should be a little easier.

Replaced a fuel pump relay in the snow after a few weeks of intermittent cold-start failures, and Blue Steel fired right up!

Well done Bruno. Thought of you as I rolled past you on NJT on the way from EWR.

It was 8:00 travel time for 3000 Nm from London to NY

Then 3:30 for 60 miles ftom EWR home. Next time I’m bringing a parachute and asking for a plug door seat

After a week abroad and a cold snap, everyone’s car starts ! Only two ladies left home now, and they work 50-50 hybrid, so car miles are light

You should replace the capacitors in the old one and keep it as a spare.

Always liked the 850's in white. My parents had a 96 850 base 10V I found for them on-line in Scotland from Canada. They really liked that car and they got it for an awesome price.

As it is a 96 is it a pearl white (Platinum edition) or regular white being a turbo?

The paint needs a tlc but I think it will scrub up nicely when the snow and muck has left us here in Germany.

I don't have the colour code at hand but I imagine it's regular white, it's a AWD with the LPT.
