2020 V60CC - 36K Tune up
I will look at what the owner's manual recommends for 36,000 miles service; should ALL fluids change include this service?

Here you go, this has fluids... but stubbornly doesn't address for instance auto transmission fluid replacement. It only, moronically, says "Automatic transmission fluid level, check/adjust". We all remember the P2 fiasco with "lifetime" fluid.

Personally I think if it’s the right weight and synthetic and the difference of brand doesn’t void a warranty, use it. Or maybe it’s me feeling all of my 52 years, and life’s too short to dither and use energy on discussion and research about oils.

It appears that Volvo Service NEVER replaced the air filter at previous intervals; a circus of resetting reminder and a carwash can be illusive.
The replacement wiper blade refill is a smart design; the form and graphics on plastic connector makes the task a no-brainer. Yes, you will set the wiper-to-service mode from the center console before removing old part and installing refill.

What has been your experience so far with the V60? Did you look at or consider earlier versions, say in the teens?

It fits into our driving comfort; we leased it first to ease into it. Without hesitation, it feels right with our existing V70XC and XC90 experience -- rolls away like water in comparison to our other two cars. I often take the rear driver's seat during family trips, no issues, relax, plenty of room for 6'1".
Neighborhood families are P3 XC90 fans; V60CC are rare. The under-the-hood is arranged like our other Volvos -- familiar and accessible. Oil change is same as CN90 told us.
Yes, we looked at 2013 - 2016 XC70 coming off leases and trade-ins during our search in 2020. All very attractive but this is a real UPGRADE - data is projected on windshield, steers and parks itself, warms up steering and seat, runs wiper, learns your driving style, monitors traffic, and remind us about pursuit of happiness -- but still needs carwash. You can zip pass others in a flash.
Why do new cars have great suspensions - what is a secret?

First time replacing cabin filter includes time for finding your way after what is obvious, two torx 24 -- ample space at footwell. A collection of small leaves dropping as the filter was pulled needed a vacuum run. A deliberate curling of the filter is a must for it to fit and slide back in to the housing.

With newer cars the issue is with EPA at the time of purchase so the different additive packages in the name of cleaner oil. The thinner provides better MPG numbers besides meeting EPA requirements. On a 2020 Tiguan owner in South America states 5W40 while U.S. is 0W20 in the Owner's Manual.xHeart wrote: ↑24 Oct 2023, 10:04 The new set of Pirelli tires are on; getting started with following maintenance items:

The label recommends CASTROL EDGE 0W-20 Full Synthetic; thinking about many years of Pennzoil Platinum® Euro Full Synthetic on all our cars - your thoughts?
- Windshield Wiper Blade Refill - 31693569
The issue with grades is not really ambient temp but what surface does the oil encounter in the engine. With turbos always go higher in viscosity than manufacture recommendation. Most manuals leave it up to the owner in terms of choice as some will experience extreme driving conditions so other viscosity ratings will be recommended. Oil in any 2.0 turbo experiences extreme temps vs NA. 0W30 is better but 5W40 is best if you do not encounter freezing temps in the winter.
. .

It is now 40,000 miles; there is no dipstick to check the fluid level.
The steps are similar to our 2001 V70XC, but it takes 10 Torx screws to remove the engine protective cover - the material has felt-rubber-fabric feel to it. The Torx screws into plastic retainer - be gentle, put away your impact.
Please use correct wrench at the oil filter housing -- it appears same but a mm smaller than those that fits V70XC.
Drain at the housing torx-drain first, replace the o'ring and screw the torx back on. Now remove the housing to replace filter.
The fluid capacity is 6.1L, so filled the oil filter-cap with 150ml before screwing it back on, and then poured the remainder at the filler to make the the exact amount.
Lowered the car, then navigated center console to check the oil level. If you use VIDA, iPhone and know your icons, you'll find it familiar. I believe it is intelligent and it knew what I wanted.
