WTB: 1995 850 MCC re-circulation control unit

Post by lcc014 »

I am looking for the 1995 MCC re-circulation control unit. Control unit needs not to be working. I only need the gears inside the unit because mine had a broken gear.

Thanks,

Ching-Ho Cheng

Check with Robert, if he doesn't have one he seems to be in a salvage yard daily. He may be on the West coast at the moment.

Thank you so much for you help. The part number for my NA 855 is : 6849557. I already tried the one for S70 (p/n: 9142629) from ebay. That one did not work because Volvo changed the design of the internal gears.

Where are the gears? There is a 97 MCC 850 NA in our local junkyard. The front part of the dash control unit is missing which has the knobs on it, but the rear section (like a white box) is still there. Does that have what you need?

This is what the part looks like now I have looked it up, but this is not what I thought you were asking for:

https://shopcar.parts/en/autopart/15765 ... ator-motor

Where is this situated? It looks like all the other servo motors but clearly is different from your investigations.

Let me know as we have decent weather this week so being retired I could go look for you.

Thank you for looking it up for me. Sorry for my bad description about the part. It was the part shown in the link that you provided. I should have called it the servo motor instead of the control box. The white color gear is inside the small black box and in mine was stripped after all these years. This black box is behind the glove box and controls the re-circulation flap linkage.

Thanks,

Ching-Ho Cheng

It is funny as I nearly pulled one the other day at the junkyard from an 850, but as I have several from newer cars I didn't.

Your car being a 95 may have a different motor to the 97 MCC one at the yard. Although I was able to input the part number on Volvo sites, they do not give the info on what years it is used on. The other motor that is now discontinued claims it is good for 93-97, but more and more I am finding Volvo sites wrong.

I'm going to look at my older copy of Vida later today to see if it has any more info. To remove it is a 5 min job as both it and the ECC car which is older, are already bare under the dash a I pulled parts for another MVS'er.

So sorry to go on about this, but it is the motor for the fresh are intake flap above the cabin fan? The Volvo drawings are bad as they often now only show one. I have found a total of 2 so far for an MCC car. One on the cold air intake flap, and a 2nd above the driver's right leg.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Yes, it was the little black box mounted above the fan motor for the fresh air intake flap. It connects to the linkage to control the intake flap - open or close. Mine has 5 wires going into the black box; in other words, the connector to the black box used was 5 wires. Newer version for S70/V70, the connector has only 4 wires.

Thanks,
