I do think I would need a coupler for the ubend to the upper pipe for length- suggestions for that as well?

A fair number of us - including Robert Spinner - take them off and throw them away. Robert has just over 525,000 on his 850T5R, still doing fine on the original bottom end. He has no mercy on his cars.
I have a small stack of lines taken off every turbo car I own.

The OP has an RN motored car. The oil cooler is on the pan, not in the radiator. I bought a bulk length off of Amazon, because we have too many cars and 5/8"(16mm) is a very common size and will get used.
It's too bad the G-Plus brand kits (out of China) don't include the cooler hoses. I've had zero problems with the hoses I've used from them, and they're inexpensive. HERE

I seem to recall seeing a video of someone using a hose from maybe a Ford model but can't seem to find that video now. Maybe take the old one to a parts store and see if they can match it?

Ahh- there are the clamps - Sorry I didn't see them on my phone last night.
So it's 5/8 16mm all around for both.
Couldn't I just buy the minimum 10ft of it and cut it for length for both?
I think it would curve enough for the elbow of the left side no?

Being able to eliminate what has become a yearly issue is a big relief.

I don't think the straight would make that u-turn, thus why I suggested one of the 180* u-bends.
Even if you can't contort it enough to work solo, the u-bend could pointed the right direction and barbed elbow of sorts would allow a transition to the straight hose.
A 90* elbow might do it, but it's hard to say without having it all in front of me.
Too much bending/twisting could cause the hose to collapse a bit, restricting the ID and flow.

Right Right.
It's an odd spot until you have hands on it= even the factory hoses take a bit to get in place.
Problem is I need to get the stuff before I get some garage space/time as I don't have my own place to work.
