Foam donut under has to be there, you may have to fiddle with the jack to get the lug wrench properly captured. I keep a couple of clean rags under the jack before I tighten the clip.

Post us a picture and we can possibly tell you if you are missing something in the spare wheel well. I see foggydogg has added a picture now so that should help.

I'm missing enough that I question why I have the spare in the car. I have the spare, warning triange. the jack, and the strap. No tools, no foam etc, just the donut and the seatbelt bracket. Would be good to know what I need to track down. Based on that section of the manual I seem to be missing the thing that secures the tire and the jack together and to the strap, and then the tools. Thanks

Got several things taken care of today:
1. Oil change - Mobil1 full synthetic 10W-30
2. Firewall engine torque mount
3. Upper engine torque mount

The upper engine torque mount is a real pain. I combined several different methods, and have to say the 2”pvc pipe coupling is the real hero. That really helped me keep things straight until the mount was seated.

Almost done writing IMMO key programmer feature after playing on my 850.. noticed a way i can actually produce key chips remotely without being close or touching cars if car is not near me if they have just PIN code for it and send dump for me.

.. thanks Bosch.

One of those weird days in Volvo land. Took a part for another member to the Post office to ship. Then got home and took a call for help from a mechanic I know in BC for help diagnosing a running issue on a 00 V70XC they were struggling to pin down.

Next worked on some more tidying up of parts in the garage, and then my ex-Volvo mechanic friend turned up. Tried to see if I could get either Vol-Fcr or 850 OBDII to work. Neither would connect or work. Not sure what the issues are. Just need a lot more time to try and find a way to get either to work.

On 850 OBD2, I have 2 ELM327 bluetooth adapters. Neither will connect to the car. The older one has worked in the past, but possibly newer phone tech is the issue. I have a recently recommended Veepack ? Elm 327 and it is slightly better, but again would not stay connected. Phone is a month old Pixel 8 on Android.

Vol-Fcr will just not connect. Keeps saying need to connect to Com1 port but none of the 3 USB ports seem to be recognised as one??

Gave up, and then my friend opened the trunk of his 97 850 AWD manual and it was full of spare parts, most new that he needs to help shift. They are mostly from newer Volvos ( a pair of 2013/4 XC60 headlight for example not new but almost perfect). I have offered to ID any parts that don't have ID's and then what they all fit, and new pricing where they are available. From that he can set a value for selling the parts.

Tonight a call from another buddy who bought my 00 V70 SE NA. He is finally replacing the radiator that has been weeping for a while with a brand new Nissens radiator. Found it needs a few bits which I probably have either new or used if needed.

Funny. Some days no one needs help, and other days it is crazy. I wouldn't have it any other way! :D

Hi thanks letting me know.
Sorry for the issue.

I did now check and people have had on latest Androids issues after Google introduced new Bluetooth updates example for headphone or car radios having problems with bluetooth profiles

Examples:

Last time i fixed one "bug" for latest xiaomi pro iforgotmodelname.. there was function in asynchronous thread which on exactly that device ended threadlocking up due that function getting called up.

The funny thing of that was it being function example right from Google how to do things so i turned function into normal thread so it would not lock up as i didnt see reason keeping it into that specific kind of thread and tested on my devices it didn't produce any problems.
That code was same since Android 4.4.2 existed.

I love Google for never ending System API changes and code recession.

If i find custom Android 14 firmware for my Galaxy S5 i can attempt replicate issue.

Now don't feel so bad as I thought it was just my lack of knowledge! However, I still need to then find a way to get Vol-Fcr to work. I know the Vag-com cable I have used to work fine, but with software changes who knows now?

In a similar vein I haven't gotten vol-fcr to work. I get an error saying I should stick to flash codes for Bosch 4.3.
