Generally Wyoming mountains and N/NW from there. Colorado is generally Central Rockies. Then it seems Canadians have Rockies as well (a LOT of them!) - who knew! (Ever been to Banff or the Columbia Icefield? wow... )
West Slope -
West of the Continental Divide. Different weather, greener, wetter. Our rivers flow into the Mighty Columbia. Pacific moisture dumps snow here. Those nasty arctic blasts coming down the high plains have difficulty spilling over the mountains...but they still do.

You should see it! (But sometimes it's grey and drippy here - see The Great NW)

The Red River divides Oklahoma and Texas on most of the Oklahoma southern border. I hear there is another Red River valley somewhere in Northern plains states.
The Flint Hills of Kansas is a large area of central Kansas with rocky rolling hills. It is largely ranch pasture because there are too many rocks for farming. This is the area South of Manhattan and north of Emporia, Kansas.
The Texas Hill country is the area north of San Antonio, Texas.

Western third of Kansas appears flat, but actually is increasing elevation to the west. The rest of Kansas has more trees and hills. Kansas is my home state.
