Going further down my odometer/speedometer diagnosis and looks like my harness ends at the speed sensor are gone. Are the speed sensors polarized?

Finally figured out the excessive blow by in Honey Badger, caused by a faulty EGR solenoid. Formerly 94TurboMom (Tiana's) car...given to my wife and I as a wedding present for us to fix up together. Really loving this car

Did you find a new EGR solenoid? I think the EGR valve itself is NLA.

Used my S70 to shave a dead deer. It was dead in the road, and already been hit a few times. Didn't look that big, so I figured I'd straddle it with the car. The car is lower than I tend to think of it as being. Grossness now exists on the bottom side. I also dented the intercooler lower tank. I don't think any real damage occurred, but I'll be visiting the car wash again soon.

Planning on just deleting it. For now I disconnected the vacuum line from the intake, the solenoid and the valve itself are both NLA. I have a ‘96 intake manifold for it, just need to figure out blocking off the EGR pipe from the exhaust manifold and find a ‘96 non SAS/EGR ECU.

Did 96 cars have non-SAS ECU's? There is the SAS bypass diode you can do. If you can find an ECU, there are guys who can re-program them.

In the US, I think only the 96-97 NAs and the 97 LPT GLTs had the SAS in the 850's.

You should be able to do the resistor mod for the EGR. I don't recall any EGR on the 96 or 97 HPT turbo motors I've had.

The -072 96-97 HPT(non-R) M4.3 ECU should be what you want, unless you decide to do an M4.4 upgrade and then you can just disable the diagnostics for it. I didn't see anything in the M4.3 bins that I looked into.

.. thanks Bosch.
Well i almost ended up making this kind of LAME DEALERSHIP Key chip programmer which only lets you have just so much fun!

Nooo.. i want MORE what Volvo mechanics ever dreamed of have details and capabilities for key programming!
Lets make it not just mechanic level tools but more like ENGINEER LEVEL... i want all bytes! das Auto!

.. Yes lame Bosch IMMO uses pointer technique in how it has keys activated from memory. "Erasing" means on these modules (all IMMO boxes of P80 and P1 Volvos - all years since 1996 (includes models with CDM) ) moving end pointer to one or zero so it will use then first slot just overwriting it but now you can check what was there and manually overwrite any slot or restore them!

I would add configuration bits as well but i am running out of screen real estate here and i think i need move them to another screen another time in future.
Verlog/Vin slot is under maybe or not included as well and in possibility of future expansion.

.. yes you need a PIN code from Volvo or you trigger Security Timer to go up which you need wait to go down to play with this.

If you need a -072 ECU, I have been sorting through a bunch of parts my buddy wants to sell. There is one in this stash.

If you have no luck locally, PM me and I can see if we can get this to you for a reasonable price.
