They are all in the garages and used regularly when the Rolls and Bentleys go for their weekly repairs and check ups.

Those are some really nice Perfo wheels, wow! I'm going to bring mine also next week to a powdercoat business an old co-worker of mine runs. I'll make sure to make some before and after picsP80GLT wrote: ↑25 Feb 2024, 07:46 Weather is certainly getting warmer now at a toasty 7°C today, the rain has stopped and the sun is shining so the 850 was pushed out of the garage into the daylight for a while to get some air round it

Today I thoroughly cleaned out the interior of my car. I saw this professional car cleaner on YT who uses Koch Chemie Greenstar APC for all kinds of things, so I decided to also try it. And it gets the job done, and thats an understatement. Afterwards I used Autoglym rubber/plastic/vinyl treatment and the dash and the plastics look really nice (but without a high degree of shine, just a deep satin finish). I also noticed that the glue of the door panels is letting loose. Is that something you can replace or fix yourself?

Been hearing a new noise from the rear over bumps, like a plastic rattling.
It might be the tailgate noise has come back, as when I got the car it had room to shift and hit the striker and make noise, but now I'm concerned it might be related to the new suspension in the rear. Replaced the shocks, shock mounts, spring perches and bump stops. Is there any chance it's from something in the suspension like the plastic the bump stop mounts to?
I'll try to get someone to drive the car with me in the back, hopefully it's something simple.
Also open to suggestions, things I've missed maybe.

Check the tailgate bump stops are in place either side of the opening. I have seen those fall off.
Make sure when you fit the tailgate latch at the bottom that you have a little pressure against those 2 bump stops. Over time the 2 bump stops will compress, not sure if they can even be bought new now.
Did you check the condition of the rear axle mounts. They can rust and crack the aluminum mounts, the bushes also rot out.
Neil.

Thanks for your kind remarks, unfortunately the wheels are not Perfo but Columba, they were powder coated before I purchased the car 4 years ago and were sitting in the trunk with tyres that had cracked sidewalls so could not be put on until the tyres were changed.
The spare wheel is still original, the outer face was in good condition but the inner was starting to turn to powder so rather than have the wheels powder coated I decided to tidy it up. I cleaned off the oxidised powdered mess then etch primed, undercoated and several coats of lacquer. Factory wheels from this era were only powder coated on the outside, I don't know what procedure they used for the inside but I think my tidy up is in keeping with the car

Nice job on that spare. I clean the backs of all our rims as well as the front and pick the small stones out of the treads every winter and spring when swapping over from winter to summer tires. It's disappointing to see how damaged the rears get from tire machines and putting on and taking of which allows moisture to get under the coating.
