2004 XC90 CEM Connector Pinout

Post by ChipStewart »

It's been a long saga trying to get my '04 XC90 back in operation. I was having seemingly random electrical failures. When I heated the CEM with a heat gun (on low), all would work - for a little while. I sent the CEM to Total Auto Tech in San Jose, who transferred everything to an '03 CEM. I got it back, but still, no instruments, heat, audio, accessories, etc. I tried a new DIM, but it didn't help (and sent the original to Total Auto Tech who said it tested good).

I just picked up a Hantek 1008C oscilloscope and started testing CAN BUS lines. The lines into the DIM showed good waveforms, as did those into the steering column. I pulled down the CEM and 4 of the 5 CAN BUS lines showed good waveforms. One green/white pair, however, showed about 2.3V but with no waveforms (see file).

Anyone how to identify where this pair leads? Anyone have a pinout for the CEM connector?
