My stuff wouldn't be very useful to you.
As I mentioned, I'm running a WBO2 Modulation bin, so I don't have a VE map. It's an AFR Target map.
Also, my turbo control parameters probably aren't spicy enough for you. I'm only at about 12-13 psi. Mainly because I haven't had the time to really mess around with it, and the car is running great.

Does M4.4 forgot its readiness monitors on OBDII stuff for emission tests if you take battery out? I was just now thinking in my head and got light bulb moment that does it even save status of those in Flash or RAM memory..

Hey Guys,
I've had my 850 for a year now and have been wanting to tune it. I've wandered through the old forums and wound up here... Do you guys have the old bin, xdf and adx files that would get me started? Those would be helpful.
Additionally, the serial number on my ECU is 0 261 203 076. I read on the M44 wiki that this would be found in a manual '97 GLT Turbo. However, my car is manual '96 NA. Should I be concerned that my car is running on what appears to be an ECU mapped for the turbo engine?

There was never manual GLT turbo in the US. The ECU for the '97 GLT turbo(auto) is a -936.
The Wiki is wrong on what that ECU is.
В5254S, 96, Motronic 4.4 91 46 560-9 0 261 203 076 manual, full OBD2 (Non-turbo manual)
I don't think anyone had decoded and compiled the XDFs for the NA stuff. The XDFs etc I have are all turbo.

I have flashed the 607 bin on a M4.4 ECU 0261204449 from a S70 Automatic HPT 2.3.
Calibrated injectors to the Bosch orange ones according to the M44 Wiki.
AC mod, turned off the diagnostics for SAS etc. disabled rear cat check - I got CEL with it enabled: rear HO2S EFI-153, EFI-522.
Everything appears to be fine and running smooth except the turbo doesn't want to spool. No CEL, no knock or KR. The vacuum is fine, while WOT max 0.1-0.2 bar.
The turbo works fine with the old M4.3 ECU - 0.7 bar.
Recently replaced plugs BKR6EIX.
Could the BCS be the issue? I have ordered Pierburg 7.22908.03.0 replacement TCV which is gonna arrive next week.
I haven't tried the logging in TunerPro RT yet (Just found out I have to send letter l to enable logging?). I sent "o" through RealTerm to use OBD-II VOL-FCR. In live data TCV always stuck at 0%, STFT at 1.00 +/-5%.
I'm not a mechanic or tuner it's just my project/hobby car I tinker around with.
Edit: I did a datalog this morning. It was -1C outside so most of the time the car is warming up. Around the 80% time mark I hit 2600RPM with no boost at all. The TCV seems to be reduced by the ECU. Thanks for the help. Odd, that the old ECU works fine.

The conversion should make no difference in whether the turbo spools or not.
I did the M4.4 conversion on my '97 T5 without changing anything other than the injector stuff and the diag disables. Turbo spooled as before. I didn't swap to the Pierburg until much later.

Hi! Check the version of your ECU. Atmospheric M4.4 has physical differences from turbo M4.4. They are the same on the chip, but there are differences in the curcitboard due to which TCV does not work.Preiokas wrote: ↑09 Mar 2024, 15:34 Volvo 850 1996 T5 Auto

My boost is now all over the place (overboosting to 1.1 BAR with the TCV trying to bring the boost down to 0.6) with the new Pierburg TCV and M4.3 ECU. Started happening after installing an open air filter.
I suppose the 449 ECU is from a 2.3 turbocharged engine.
I have changed the fuel filter and refurbished the blue injectors from a X70 (ready to install).
I'll post an update sometime soon.
If I still can't get it to work, I'll try the p-part bin.
The last option would be MBC or trying a 607/608 ECU.
Update: Changing back to the older style BCS fixed the issue for now (M4.3).
