Parking ticket - no front licesnse plate

Post by matthew1 »

Got up today to find a parking ticket on my 850 for having no front license plate. I haven't had one ever -- since 2000. This is the first ticket for that offense.

Do you have a front license plate? Have you gotten a ticket, if you answered no?

Luckily we don't have front license plates in Tennessee...so, no reason for a ticket. Instead, I have a cool euro-plate on the front of two of our Volvo's. That reminds me- I need to find another one for the 240!

No front plate is issued in Florida. In Nevada, it's required, but I ran for years without one and was never ticketed. I put my front plate in the trunk with the mounting bracket and one bolt. If I would have been stopped, I was going to say that one bolt fell out so I took it off and I haven't found the replacement bolt yet, hopeful that the cop would let me go. Usually you get a "fix-it ticket" and the judge won't fine you if you can prove you put the plate on. Good luck.

They are compulsory in the UK, with certain exceptions, so I shall vote 'Yes' to having a front plate.

On my visits to the US this was one thing that struck me as odd - some states require them and some don't. Maybe I should have said this was one of the things that struck me as odd.
