SRS-Airbag Service Urgent

Post by MoVolvos »

.
Has anyone used an aftermarket OBDII to reset this code? Did this code come about due to removing the DIM without first removing the battery cable or is it just one the things that comes up when the DIM goes bad?
.

The purchase of the vehicle was a couple of months ago and it has not been driven as I didn't register it yet. The dash was already glitching especially that panel. Don't remember if the code was already displayed. The only thing that has been touched is the DIM removal, driver's window switch and the installation of a set of injectors, nothing else. What could have tripped it?

I'm going to look for a VIDA.

if you have a laptop w/ 8 mb ram you can get vida "Boot and Go" on a thumb drive ,add a mongoose cable and you're all set for $160.?

Send Dave an email.

unplugging the DIM caused it,
its probably on the high speed network with srs.

Note: SRS can be reset approx 6 times then it becomes permanent and you have to have the SRS module reset to clear it,
so be careful when fiddling with the computer network even if you have VIDA,
happened to me when i unplugged the rear seatbelt wire without disconnecting the battery neg cable.
the door module is ok but when you go behind the dash, even radio, you can trip the code.

Oh yes, I have that in my Bookmarks from sometime ago. Never really wanted to go that in depth on these cars but may have to for convenience sake.

Reminded me of this link someone provided? Is the $5 annual subscription and cost of bandwidth so you can use the software residing on their server? Still need the cable?

I have Vida and also iCarsoft for diagnosing faults. While Vida is more in-depth it’s awkward to carry around (laptop, Vida, cable) and difficult to navigate through. ICarsoft fits in the glovebox and can be plugged in and running within a few seconds, so that is my preferred diagnostics tool.

Fools economy , don't do it,
that vida software is not stand alone (not cracked), you still have to pay subscription to use it. expensive...$$$$$
the "jean you whine" volvo dice cable is another $600+.

I'll look at iCarsoft again as it's the first one that came up when I searched Amazon for a Diag Tool for Volvo SRS. Do you know if it can reset the SRS-Airbag Service Urgent message? Which one or similar model do you have?
