More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.

These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

The CDC has announced the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and more states have ended Covid-19 reporting. Since May 14, 2023, many states and territories have not reported results. However, I still have been receiving reports from other states through Worldometer. I will be continuing daily reports as long as the information is relevant.

State growth rates for March 14, 2024. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: Wyoming (0.219) with 195,917 cases, New York (0.075) with 7,571,542 cases, US Virgin Islands (0.069) with 26,148 cases, North Dakota (0.057) with 309,161 cases, and Delaware (0.022) with 349,869 cases. Wyoming has been in the top 5 states for 54 of the last 59 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 481 of the last 526 days. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 57 of the last 57 days. North Dakota has been in the top 5 states for 265 of the last 284 days. Delaware has been in the top 5 states for 203 of the last 275 days.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 487 of last 773 days with decreasing active case numbers.

New Hospital admissions are reported by CDC as number of admissions per 100,000 of county population. Reported for March 2, 2024 were 3071 counties (95%) with less than 10 new admissions per 100,000 (low risk area). There were 141 counties (4.4%) with less 10 to 19.9 new admissions per 100,000 (medium risk area). There were 7 counties (0.22%) with more than 20 new admissions per 100,000 (high risk area). The number of High risk counties decreased from 17 to 7. It appears from my local review of this data, rural hospitals that serve multiple counties may be over counted as the same number of cases are applied to all counties served by the hospital. This is shown on the CDC map detail as several counties in an area with identical number of new cases reported for each county. I have observed that the number of counties with medium and high risk has dropped in the last 5 weeks. The total number of Covid-19 hospital admissions decreased 13.6% for the week.

In early August, the number of reported active cases had dropped below 800,000 for the first time since July 2021. As of September 4, active cases were above 1,000,000. January 17, 2024 active cases rose to 1,167,209. Daily active case counts are now consistently below 1,100,000.

There have now been 111 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 33% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.

This is shown on the CDC map detail as several counties in an area with identical number of new cases reported for each county. I have observed that the number of counties with medium and high risk has dropped in the last 5 weeks. The total number of Covid-19 hospital admissions decreased 20.9% for the week.

In early August, the number of reported active cases had dropped below 800,000 for the first time since July 2021. As of September 4, active cases were above 1,000,000. January 17, 2024 active cases rose to 1,167,209. Daily active case counts are now consistently below 1,100,000.

There have now been 111 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 33% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.

More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.

These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

Again, results change daily.

The CDC has announced the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and more states have ended Covid-19 reporting. Since May 14, 2023, many states and territories have not reported results. However, I still have been receiving reports from other states through Worldometer. I will be continuing daily reports as long as the information is relevant.

State growth rates for March 23, 2024. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: North Dakota (0.080) with 309,545 cases, New York (0.079) with 7,577,399 cases, US Virgin Islands (0.069) with 26,148 cases, Wyoming (0.032) with 195,966 cases, and Maine (0.020) with 345,681 cases. North Dakota has been in the top 5 states for 274 of the last 293 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 490 of the last 535 days. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 66 of the last 66 days. Wyoming has been in the top 5 states for 63 of the last 68 days. Maine has been in the top 5 states for 9 of the last 12 days.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00102 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.00181. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 55 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 494 of last 782 days with decreasing active case numbers.

New Hospital admissions are reported by CDC as number of admissions per 100,000 of county population. Reported for March 16, 2024 were 3160 counties (98%) with less than 10 new admissions per 100,000 (low risk area). There were 53 counties (1.7%) with less 10 to 19.9 new admissions per 100,000 (medium risk area). There were 2 counties (0.06%) with more than 20 new admissions per 100,000 (high risk area). The number of High risk counties decreased from 9 to 2.
