On the front and rear, the correct flare nut size was 13mm for the inner soft flare nut. The brake hose was 14mm which you don't really need a flare wrench for. I'm not sure how widespread this manufacturing defect is, but the flare nut wrenches from harbor freight has a 14mm size on both ends even where it is labeled as 13mm.

That’s really , really annoying. Flare wrenches are one of those tools you need infrequently, but when you do, you want quality. sK, Snap on, Tekton brand is probably worth it. Project Farm recently did a test on Flare Nut Wrenches:
He always does no-BS tests of the tools and is not sponsored by the manufacutrers.

You don’t need to buy the whole set, BUT if you do much wrenching and you may have corrosion and previously damaged bolt heads, a set of flare wrenches can save frustration. A flare wrench does not grip as well as a 6 point socket, but better than a plain wrench or 12 point socket. Sometimes there is no room for a socket wrench.abscate wrote: ↑09 Apr 2024, 02:00That’s really , really annoying.
