Do I have a Polestar C30 limited edition? Topic is solved

Hi all,

I have a 2012 C30 T5, what appears to be a base model on the outside. I was digging through the glovebox and noticed a certificate stating it has the "polestar performance power optimization" which increases the hp from the stock 227 to 247hp. the VIN in the certificate matches my car.

My understanding was that the polestar limited edition is the only one with the higher stated horsepower, and all of those came in rebel blue with the big body-color spoiler. Mine is chameleon blue and just has the small black spoiler.

I also have a subtle blue polestar badge on the rear of the car next to the T5 badge, but there are no other markings on the car that indicate polestar.

Is this just an option? or is this something stranger?

Would be quite some work to go out of the way to obtain such information. I would call the dealership or reach out to Polestar to verify. If you were close we could compare it with our 08 C30 T5 2.0 M66.

Taanneth, thanks for posting this question. From my research, and what you expected, you do not have a Polestar C30 limited edition...

The color gives it away. According to C&D, it only came in Rebel Blue:

This Polestar Limited Edition, however, essentially is a tarted-up, front-wheel-drive C30 R-Design with a unique color combination—retina-searing Rebel Blue (which will be available on non-Polestar 2013 C30s) over matte-black 17-inch wheels—and some Polestar performance goodies baked in. Volvo started with the C30 R-Design equipped with the mid-grade Premier Plus trim level and added Polestar’s engine-tuning package (available on all C30s for $1295) and Polestar exterior badges.

Blue color also supported by a Volvo document, attached.

At least your retinas remain non-seared.

I'd say your C30 definitely has the engine tuning package, however. Those tuning packages typically came with a Polestar badge. It must be fun to drive? Fast, yes?
