10 years ago had a problem (up in this thread), and had the precious help of our generous friend precopster, who steered me in the way of the solution... Had a bricked ETM body. Bought new (old, yellow labeled) one from ebay, updated it with Sacer contacless sensor, and off I went, for 130kkm...
Last week sold the car, bragging to buyer about this problem solved " for life", and the new Bosch MAF I had installed 1 week ago, and the car running flawlessly...
Literally the next day the guy phoned me... " Well Filipe, the car pulled like an express train yesterday... and today, out of nowhere.. Limp mode... "
My heart dropped..
Had it towed to my 15year long mechanic, who scanned it with generic software, who spit out these codes:
982A
902A
959F
903F
He had a check and aparently while the throttle test goes from 0 all the way to 99%, the accelerator pedal only goes between 2-17% or so, on the software test...
He leans towards accelerator position sensor itself...
Any help you guys can give, will be highly appreciated!!!!!
I am assuming the fixing costs, even though I delivered it running flawlessly, and it had no previous warning signs whatsoever... So the cheaper I can do it the better... Otherwise it would have been better just to write it off instead of selling it..
But when it's working it is such an amazing car... The 5 cylinder roar...
