The coils will run for a long time, but if you are removing the plugs, check the area around the coil just below the rubber boot all the way around. They crack commonly on the opposite side to the cable plug. But also I find cracks can appear more often on the RHS from the plug when looking down on it and extending down the coil shaft. They can continue to run like this for a while but will eventually fail suddenly.

I had cars that went 100s mile from home , they get new Bosch coils from FCP every 100k

I take the good used ones and put them into one of the three others that now only go 3000 miles a year, when they fail.

Buying Bosch stuff from the jungle, eBay, outlets, you can get counterfeits.

Good spark plugs of the proper design with the proper gap, will keep coils happy longer. Remember plug gap for turbo engines is smaller. Old plugs can erode gaps to much too large. Always check the gap before installing new plugs.

Turbo gaps are smaller? Smaller than what. I have only ever seen 0.028" gaps for all engines, but I am not particularly familiar with newer engines. I know turbo engines are more particular to proper gapping.

From Haynes paper manual for V70 (2000 - 2007) and S80 (1998 - 2006) the turbocharged engine plug gap is 0.7 mm (0.028 inch). The non-turbo charged engine plug gap is 1.2 mm (0.047 inch).
