2002 V70 XC driver's side window switch. Not sure which one as Volvo web has several with one switch requiring programing? Saw a comment stating the same on 1AAuto's YouTube video showing the switch removal process.

You know, I remember reading that somewhere too about it needing programming. Not sure how true it is, since I'm pretty sure I've replaced the master window switch on my mom's 07 XC90 without doing any of that.

When I glanced at the Volvo website it looked like only 1 switch required programing. Perhaps someone figure it out quickly that it was a bad idea and never went that route again. I did manage to clean it up so it's working. Definitely much much easier than the P80's.

Glad a cleaning worked! I always love to see cleaning a switch fix it. It's amazing how dirty they get over time.

Cut opened (red arrow), crack (yellow line), split opened yellow arrow. Tooth brush cleaned cut opened area and inside from the back. Hot glue crack and sides. Scraped and sanded up to 2000 grit then Mother Chrome Polished with DA buffer and sealer.

Thanks I appreciate it. I managed to remove the tail light, cut it open some and used a tooth brush to cleaned the mold and debris out of it. Used some hot glue to seal it then scraped the excessive and sanded the entire area. Sanding with around 6 to 7 different grits up to around 2000 then Mother Chrome polished it with a DA buffer. All told about 1.5 hours

Adjusted the rear brakes from inside the car and took it for safety inspection at Jiffy Lube Wednesday evening at 5:50PM before their 6PM closing. The young inspector try to pry the lens to see if it's loose and water can get in. He took his time about 20 minutes and it cost $14.

My 10 day temp tags expired today and I did find a lens about 45 minutes away but wasn't sure if I could take the panels apart so gave it a try Wednesday. I will probably replace both sides in the future along with the bumper as it has two screws on each side holding edges up. Thanks for the reminder I'll change the request to reflect the temp fix.

Looking for axles, both sides, for an 07 XC70.

Looking for Volvo axles not aftermarket, "not all rusted to hell" is usually a good indicator of that. A factory axle will show minimal rust even after 20 years.

Technically any 01-07 XC70 axle will fit. V70, S60 etc will not fit, not even if they were AWD. My source on compatibility is the FCP web pages.

I realize this is a long shot but one side I need now (passenger side, viewtopic.php?t=103994&hilit=carrier&start=10) and the other I can see is also a rusting, aftermarket axle with grease slowly leaking out the edge of the CV boot. I'm ok with crappy boots as long as the CV joints are good; I can replace the boots.

I also need miscellaneous XC70 parts, these are low priority but if you find an axle maybe you can find these. Listed in no particular order except that I really would like some P2 backup sensors:
A. plastics from around the car, most I have but they are partly cracked or broken:
1. under-hood fuse box cover with closing tabs intact
2. ECU box cover, again if the closing tabs are still intact
3. plastic guide for the ABS wire mounts on the passenger shock tower, if not broken
4. wiper arm base cover, driver's side (remove carefully they crack easily)
5. plastic plug in the carpet under front edge of passenger seat (mine is missing)
6. e-brake handle cover black with mounting tabs unbroken
7. rear passenger door lower trim in tan/oak
8. driver side seat outer-lower trim in black or tan - these are usually broken from people sitting on them

B. non-plastics
9. rear license plate mounting bracket if it's not too rusty
10. working radio I'm looking for an HU-850
11. P2 backup sensors, want three working ones so more than three if you can't test them

I should have a license plate bracket. They are the same for P80s and P2s, IIRC.
