I had the same problem. I got a generic gas cap from that didn't have the attachment cord, transferred the seal on that one to the original gas cap and no more evap leak code.

Made the mistake of going to the junkyard again following a tip-off by Blacklab that there was a recent 05 XC70 in and the jewel tail lights were still there recently. We are to get rain and snow with high winds over the next few days so I threw some tools in the car and headed off.
The lights were there and as best as I can see they are actually not cracked. I just needed a LHS upper and 2 lower units as I have 2 sets of RHS lights, one as a spare but I was too late to return a set in the past so decided to make a spare set for my son's car and then if anyone wants a spare set I have them or if they want to update the 01-04 XC70 to the jewels I will hopefully have a spare set to pass on.
Anyway, car was fairly stripped and the 09 S40 beside it looked like locusts had stripped it as there was little left even though the car has only been there for about 4 days. Engine was gone and much of the interior and electrics. We now have a huge number of people making a living here by stripping cars and selling on Ebay and Kijiji, mostly lights and stuff that is easy to remove. Met a guy who is a retired mechanic who complained that trying to find parts to help a friend was near impossible as cars were bare. Even trying to find a rear wiper motor was hard, but fortunately the car I got the lights from still had one he could get for his own car.
Blacklab had mentioned it had a 3 spoke wood steering wheel he had seen but not looked at. I did take a look but it was in terrible shape with cracking varnish and even the veneer was cracked. The airbag was also rough so not worth taking to swap onto our son's car.
Last think I noticed was it had a recent looking re-man alternator and a lot of stuff had been removed around it. Easy to pull, but a swine to get out! Metal pipes and the mounting bracket along with the radiator made it a real challenge to get out after unbolting it.
Neil.

Not today, but I did two changes to my car of importance.
I had flashed some throttle map changes a while back that made my pedal travel less, unfortunately this made the car too responsive and really mucked around with the transmission programming. I reverted to something more conservative.
I installed the intake hose on my NA with the side branch helmholtz resonator. I discovered it's frequency was between 296 and 315hz, some basic math tells us it's tuned for either 3000 rpm 3rd order or 7000 rpm. May or May not improve low end torque.

My 08 S60 2.5T with 167k miles developed a slip/studder at ~70mph under load. Started being a bit more repeatable on last two longer trips, started after a longer high speed run. Think it is either torque converter or valving for TC as all other gears shift fine.
Added 2 oz of Lubeguard Shudder Fixx, at first seemed not to help as it reoccurred a couple times but now seems to have addressed it. Going to be keeping close eye on it—have 2 oz more to add should I think that could help. Hope to avoid the transmission shop, they commented they wanted the issue repeatable to diagnose.
Car is in nice shape and worth fixing should it come to that.

The S60R is here for maintenance, home from my daughter in Chicago. This weekend's work:
replaced fuel pump, this should fix the intermittent ECM-2900 and duty cycle test failure. Already ruled out PEM, fuel pressure sensor.
replaced fuel filter
replaced alarm siren, that code's gone now hooray!
drilled and tapped a bolt hole in the body for the 10 mm fender liner nut - the threaded post was rusty and fell off in my hand
replaced front and rear brake pads; rotors can wait one cycle
rotated tires
That leaves only spark plugs for this visit, they are at 55k so it's time to freeCP them while I have the car here.

Changed the muffler and resonator pipe today, my car was starting to get a little noisy over the last couple months. I used Walker products for both although the muffler was manufactured by Starla and relabelled Walker. Both appeared to be good quality parts and installation and fit was straightforward. I used stainless bolts for the resonator to cat pipe flange. The pictures below show fairly typical failure of the muffler with cracks and holes, the resonator pipe was in mostly good shape with rust failure only at the clamp area where it joins the muffler. Not bad for 21 years and 320,000 kms.
