Simple question, when the car is turned off for the evening should you close everything like the fan? A friend used my car last night, parked it and turned off or closed the fan. We experienced below zero temps last night, and when I turned the car on, open the fan so heat can blow, it was making a sound. I personally never close the fan.
Thanks

Sub-zero temps bring out the worst in machinery. My Volvo isn't as new as yours but I just leave the HVAC on auto and turn off the a/c button. When I start it again, the settings stay the same.

Makes no difference. When you turn on or off the car the fan energize or de-energize. When you turn the fan switch on and off it's the same. You happenstance to catch the fan at a bad moment that's all and it's telling you it's not as healthy or new as it use to be.
