It's been a while since I watched the video, so I don't remember if he mentions that he runs a data logger on that car; the change in oil temps was negligible, even with a car on the tow dolly. He has been known to run the car at club events as well. New Mexico was home for a number of years, and he spends a good deal of time in southern California and south Texas - all places with right impressive summer temperatures.

Put in an IPD order yesterday for some trim clips and decided I'd order a few other cheap items, too. The strap on my windshield washer bottle lid is broken, so I ordered a new one. I figured a couple of oil fill gaskets would be a good idea, since I can't find the extra one ordered last time..... and then I found it along with a thermostat gasket. So now I'll have three, all for one Volvo.

New shiny part to replace the corner light that got into a accident with a toolbox drawer 
Went for a cheapo one, easy enough to replace and not critical. TYC made in Taiwan, 25ish eurobucks
New accessories belt tensioner going in tomorrow, and i'll be making a parts list to rebuild the axles as they're getting properly noisy
