2012 Xc90 Gas Pedal Dies Nothing, upon Starting Forward,Then the Engine Catches up to it...Dangerous..Why is this.? How

Ii need Help..!! I just Bought a 2012 Xc90 , 2 wd. When I step on the Gas Pedal, Sometimes, Nothing Happens..!! And then the Engine Revs, up to move Forward...WHY IS THERE A DEAD SPOT LIKE THAT...? THIS IS DANGEROUS, WHEN I NEED TO GET UP AND GO... IT TAKES A FEW SECONDS FOR THE ENGINE RPM TO KICK IN ...// CATCH UP..!!
I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS..!! WHAT CAN I DO TO DIAGNOSE OR REMEDY THIS DEAD GAS PEDAL SITUATION...? IS THIS NORMAL WITH VOLVOS ..? IS IT A SAFETY FEATURE, OR A GOVERNOR SYSTEM..? I AM BAFFLED. PLEASE ANSWER ,BE SPECIFIC...ANY THOUGHTS, IDEAS, CURES.... BILL IN LOS ANGELES. 5/04/24

My Recently Purchased ( Nice ) 2012 Xc90 , 3.2 L Has A Dangerous Problem....That I cannot Comprehend...!! When I step on the Gas Pedal, at a Stoplight .... The Pedal is DEAD.... I push it Down...and in a few Seconds....the Engine Kicks in, Gets up to Speed, and then Everything is Fine( Driving). I have Never Experienced anything Like This Phenomenon....! Why is it the Engine does not Rev up, ( Connect ) ...to the Pressing Down of the Gas Pedal, When Trying to Move Forward..? Is this A Common Problem in 2012 Xc 90, 3.2 L ??? What can I do to Remedy This, so that the Engine Revs up ( Right Away ) when I step on the Gas Pedal ?
Why is the Pedal ( Dead) when I Push Down on it...? ( Then the Engine kicks in, and
( connects) and , Everything is Fine again..? The Car is a Pleasure to Drive, Normally....
When I push down on the Gas Pedal,
( NOTHING HAPPENS....! ). -- For about 5 - Seconds....This is Scary....and Dangerous... It just Does Not Make Sense...( No Codes on Obd Ii Meter, and it Just Passed Calif. smog Test....!!
