These pics remind me that since the Toronto company sent me a rebuilt instrument cluster, the text screens are barely legible in daylight. The brightness know has no affect. Gauges are fine, text screens are dim.
Pics were taken at 2:30am in almost total darkness, there was a little ambient lighting from the filling station forecourt and the light from the display, I didn't have my lights on, hence the reason for the blurry picture due to the long camera exposure and me being tired

Kinda funny how the family P2s all need an oil change at once.
02 S60 2.4t - 193,000 miles
05 XC90 2.5T - 200,200 miles
08 S60 2.5T -168,500 miles

Walmart was clearancing out some Valvoline Maxlife SemiSyn, got a 12 qt box of 10w30 for $25 and 5w30 for $32, so the 02 and 08 got the 10w30 for summer. Prefer a full syn but will only run ~4000 miles on it anyway. 05 will get some 10w40 as that engine bay seems to run extra hot in summer, then back to 5w40 in the Fall.

Also have a leaky power steering pressure line on the 02. Looks like a potential nightmare to replace. My Indy estimates 3-4 hrs and $450 in labor. I ordered the hose for $50 on Amazon and will likely lay under the car for 10 minutes pondering my fate before deciding to open the wallet to let the pros do it.

Given the hassle to drive across town to drop off and pickup the car, decided to dive in this morning. Overall dirty but uneventful repair. Thankful that for the most part these P2s were designed pretty well to be worked on.

I was unimpressed by Geely. Even worse than Ford. It looks nice, but when you start looking at it from the mechanic's point of view, you are quickly figuring out this sh!t box would be very hard to fix cheap.

Only the true Swede in my family now. I may get another one, for my second son.

I am unimpressed by the car. It’s a 2024 XC60. It drives fine, like it’s new, but that’s about it.

There was recently an 08 or 09 S60 with 99k miles nearby (down by Ottumwa), should have picked it up…was asking $6k which seemed high but tough to find P2s with those kind of miles.

What year did Volvo loose its soul? (i.e what year did volvo cars stop being good?)

Depends who you're asking. Some say P80, some P2. I say, P3 ;)

This is a very accurate demonstration of P2 vs P3. Everything is like 30% crappier than it used to be.

Also why on Earth P3 subframe looks like that only after couple of years, while P2 subframe is still rust free, after 20 years?
