Should these be a lot cheaper if DIY removed rather than already pulled?

Update: No longer need assembly or shift lever.
Ordered shifter assembly from eBay and when the seller went to pull it they discovered it was damaged. Promptly provides a refund. Not having driven the 2012 XC90 AWD since purchased from Capital Auto Auction decided not to dump any money into the car till I can figure out if it runs well.
Fabricated / rebuilt the shift lever for under $10 in parts. Initially created just one side attachment and tested in the car. Was able to take the car down the street. The shifter claws had not arrived from FCP so the manual was difficult to use but it works also. Decided to remove and beef it with two side attachments. The FCP Parts Sweden Kit came with two identical springs rather than the two individual types so waiting for them to get back to me.

It's rough as I don't have a vise nor work bench. Just basic tools and hand sanding but found a round drill sanding pad for the second set of attachment to shape quicker
Red Arrow - Hot glue filled the cavity to potentially beef up and so screws won't work loose.
White Arrows - For reference the piece(s) that broke off on each end of the lever.
Yellow Arrows - ABS sheet plastic. 2 new end pieces for each side and spacer from the ABS plastic.
Under $10 for the ABS plastic sheet, screws, washers and split washers.
