Was a hydrogen event considered the most probable for Scorpion? I thought that was considered more likely than a hot run torpedo.

"Prisoners of the Castle:..." (Macintyre) is sort-of a follow up of his book on the invention of the 'Desert Rat' British special ops in Africa ("Rogue Heroes") , in that the central figure of that group ended up at Colditz himself. This book is a scholarly work, covers a lot of personal stories of the POWs, including the fact they built a glider (!) in the attic of the castle (!!) that they planned to catapult off the roof (!?!). The Germans never found it, and the camp was liberated before the first flight.
The American troops that made first contact with the POWs also discovered there was a forced-labor arms and ammo plant just a few hundred yards from the castle. Hundreds were worked to death.

I have been rereading "The Baroque Cycle" by Neal Stephenson. It is a long and detailed tale of the life of the mudlark, thief, sailor and adventurer, Jack Shaftoe. It is set in about 1700. It is a trilogy and each book is thick. I have found it very interesting.

Not exactly reading but included it as well quite much which i liked.. found out lately i have relatives in America through my grandma's mothers' father and still living. Thought first after all analyzing facebook being a dead platform as first place i found any still living relatives contacts was at LinkedIn after multiple dead emails.. only later found them at facebook by looking who is there commenting.. well no still answer from any of them.
Funny how much information disappears and links only from 2 to 3 generations of people.
For a footnote now i need cool down my jokes of america then as European.

1996 850 GLT - found under bridge, 2 year refurb project, commuter car, kid car, T-Boned - SIPS saved passenger. Totaled.
1997 VW GTI VR6 - exceedingly fast.
1971 VW Type II/231 - it was pointed out by management that the children would be killed in it.

Weird side note - When I saw it at the book store one day, I thought I might want to get a copy, so I picked one out of the middle of the stack. When I opened it up, it opened to the page for that day. So out off 366 possible, I opened it to that day ! Figured I better buy it

"The Peacock and the Sparrow" (L.S. Berry) - I don't read much fiction but this is a pretty good what-if spy novel by a former CIA officer. She had postings in the Middle East, the story line is muddled as is the world of spycraft.
