Re: FCP Euro Lifetime Replacement Guarantee Update
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.
1998 v70, non turbo, FWD, base model, on the road from April 2nd, 2015 to July 26, 2023.

For consumables return it on the most recent purchase to get most credit.
For coolant, 50-50 mix one gallon is accepted as a return for fresh concentrate.

I have been buying from FCP for 20 years...
I no longer buy from FCP until they fix their own issues of pricing...They slowly, secretly raise their prices.
The LT warranty is ridiculous. Because of this LT warranty, ppl return used oil, brake pads, brake rotors, spark plugs etc etc. ---> it drives their prices up and up to cover the loss.
Just look at any item, FCP prices are now more than autohausaz and rmeuropean. About 20-30% more...
They basically take money from Jack and give it to Joe, kind of thing...
Radiator is $360 at Volvo dealer but $425 at FCP for the exact same part!!!
I am old-schooled but I believe LT warranty should have a time limit and limit to certain items only.
Hood struts...sure LT warranty.
Engine oil, brake pads, air filters....seriously???
Make sure you guys shop around...
In this country, the alternatives are down to autohausaz, rmeuropean, eeuroparts, and some eBay sellers...

The warranty originally was a marketing gimmick but as FCP has grown and the original car enthusiasts have been replaced by MBA types the grifters have come out of the woodwork to take advantage of lifetime “free oil” - subsidized through higher prices for everyone. I don’t participate.

Too busy bolting on my second set of free OEM rotors, pads, and calipers onto SWMBOS E83 I paid once for,in 2011
I’ve found their prices are competitive on OE stuff within 5%. I don’t use aftermarket stuff too often, can’t comment there.
I haven’t paid for an oil or air filter in over a decade on my fleet of 8….7…..6…soon to be 5

A better way for FCP to handle this: offering LT warranty only to those who want it.
Very much like buying a new Fridge at Lowe's, Home Depot for let's say $800. If you pay another $120, then I can buy extra warranty. Otherwise, I am limited to the warranty offered by the fridge mfg.
In the case of the Fridge, I opted to stay out of the $120 warranty thingy...

We paid for the fridge, dishwasher, cooker, washing machine and dyer warranties. We have now extended them. I fairness they are now about 4 to 5 years old and the only claim we have had was on the icemaker on the fridge which was under a recall fault warranty. I do now have issues with both the washing machine blowing it's breaker (m/C or crappy modern breakers) and a dryer that likes to keep throwing blocked outlet errors and stopping (it has been cleaned many time thoroughly all the way out), and the fridge is playing up again. \Out last cooker melted the motherboard 3 times in 4 years (under warranty) and on the 4th we dumped it! Fridge was replaced 3 times in first year but under manufacturer warranty. It is a lottery these days on these large purchases if you get something that can actually so what it claims for any period of time. As to FCP, if I lived close to one of the outlets in the US I would use them and the warranty. Their prices can be bettered by other suppliers but overall I have been happy with using them over the years before shipping to Canada became stupid expensive. They used UPS who charge $85 CDN for border charges from the US. I have a Fedex shipment coming from Japan for a higher priced part and border charges are $18 CDN.............
