I have even more reason never to buy a newer Volvo. Trying to help do a transmission swap on a friends XC60 has us up to now 4 special tools. The RMS is at nearly 190,000 miles so we should do it while in there. Special tool required at $150 CDN. No aftermarket option.
Front crank has to be rotated to access the torque converter bolts - Special tool required. No aftermarket tools available at present. Another $120 CDN.
RH axle and sleeve seals need 2 tools in total at $150 CDN for both.
How do dealers stay in business??
