I’ve given my son the old 2005 V70. The CV joints are beginning to shimmy. I’d like to help him replace them before he takes the car from TN to TX for his freshman year of college.
Since it’s a college car that will, likely, be neglected or mistreated…I’d like to spend the bare minimum on parts. Like, literally…I don’t care about longevity…I just want them to function correctly when replaced.
That being said, are there any remans/knockoffs to avoid because they don’t fit? I see some listed from very cheap to very expensive. If they last 2-4yrs, I’ll be happy.
Any input?
CV Joints to avoid?? (2005 V70)

There are some posts here https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/?s=axle that talk about brands like WorldPac.

I have also had good results with TRQ and have installed those CV axles 5k miles ago.
They are quite cheap at $150 for both, and have lifetime warranty. Longevity is unknown and probably isn't great, but when I researched, I did not find any reports of TRQ axles failing.
