This is not a fix! I stress that as it is only suggested to test for the source of the issue and a temporary repair to allow for a proper repair to be organized, either the junkyard crap shoot, or I suggest you contact Matty at Mid-West ABS for a rebuilt one.
AS to the process. At the front of the ABS unit (ie. on the side facing to the front of the car) there is a large slider connector and also a 2nd smaller connector with 2 or 3 wires. Use some cardboard and push it down between the connectors and the ABS body. Golf tees have also been used! It has to be firm enough to put a light outward pressure on the connectors to push the broken wires back up against the connectors internally. If the ABS controller unit is the issue, this may help confirm it is if the ABS and STC or TRACS lights go out.
Once more, this is a diagnostic 'tool' not a fix!
Neil.

It could be used for testing but not a fix.

ABS Repair if you so choose. Probably best sending it to Midwest for the warranty.

Careful with that big connector! it can break, and then ist is a pita to open and close properly.
If your module has never been repaired (and is 96 onward), send it to Midwest ABS. This surely is better than trying to solder it yourself, unless you are an electronics guru. I soldered mine 2 or three times, it worked for a year or two, then the light came back
Matty has the expertise and surely is the best option we have.

That wedge idea is diagnostic, not really a "fix".Andrew Vanis wrote: ↑24 Jul 2024, 09:15 This is how I did the test and I will have ABS light.
What's the next step?
Notice the white silicone which I may it may not have done the resolder fix a decade ago... memory fades.
Thanks
Several vendors can do the repair, Matty is the best known and a friend here. Alex at Swedish Car Parts in Chicago is another.
I agree with Clemens, too much pressure on the connector itself can make things way worse. If the car is a daily driver, the suggestion would be to do a permanent repair.

Looking at the photo it is clear thst someone had the module open and tried to fix it. There is no need to diagnose, from my point of view, if the module is seales with white who-knows-what. It's not one of Mattys repairs, so I'd sebd it in for diagnostics.
If you really think it could be something else, there is a slight chance of a broken ABS ring or a faulty wire. You can cgeck for a cracked ABS ring visually and check the wiring loom for resistance with an ohm-meter. the "is good" values for each circuit are out there.
