1997 Volvo V90 101, 312 miles
I purchased these strut:Volvo Strut Assembly Set - ProParts Sweden 271911KT.
I purchased these end links:Volvo Sway Bar End Link - Lemforder 272991.
Struts were installed by a tech I trust. When Kevin went to install the end links, they were too long and rested on the control arm - hence too long. The striut bracket for the link is about a 1/2 inch lower that the original struts.
I talked to FCPeuro tech department and they said the strut would "adjust" with a short period of driving and the end link could be installed.
Wouldn't the "adjustment" be on the upper mount end and not the lower end thus making zero difference?
I find it difficult to believe that FCP would sell parts that do not fit together
Please show me the error of my ways!
Thanks, and good Saturday,
Tommy
struts end link don't match
Matthew's Volvo
Well, well, well!
Just before clicking on "place order" for adjustable sway bar end links, I place a link at the struts and at the sway bar - low and behold both link studs lined up w/zero pyring of the sway bar.
The struts adjusted just like FCPEuro said they would and it did so in 29 miles - kudos to them!
So, just being curious, does the adjustment happen at the upper mount or at the bottom?
Now, on to the crazy seat that only moves aft on the outside.
Happy Sunday,
Tommy
