hello
I am from holland ,and i drive a s40 2.4 from the year 2004. I am very pleased bij this forum. Lots of information about my volvo s40
I read a lot about alarm issues ,and i want to ask this beautiful forum a question about my alarm.
Can i just remove my alarm sirene...my car is already 20 years and i think there is no chance the gonna steal it.
Just remove the sirene module...is this possible??

Yes, you can remove it, but the car will continue to report that the "Alarm System Service Is Required" when you turn on the car.

It is the battery in the alarm module. It is always the battery. It is not hard to fix, and then the message goes away.
1982 240DL: Drove it 32 years and 1.5 million miles (sold, even still had mint leather!)
2001 v70 2.4T: The most expensive $1500 car I ever bought ("Volvo Turbo" - what an oxymoron!) (sold)
2004 v70: Far less fatally-flawed v70 - It served well (sold)
2010 v50: Smaller, slightly sportier wagon. Its got a spoiler, so I upgraded with sway bars!

Hello! Removing the alarm siren is possible, but make sure you understand your car's alarm system. If you are unsure, you should consult a Volvo specialist to avoid any unwanted problems. Drive safely!
