2008 3.2 XC90 front collision

Post by Bigohshin »

So, I've inherited a non running 2008 XC90
Short story.
The Volvo rear ended another vehicle @ 15MPH
The front of the volvo damage:
Collapsed bumper shell and frame which compressed AC cooler, Radiator and damage to fan shroud.
Throws error. "Urgent fix SRS AirBag".
Disconnected + battery terminal @ 24 hrs...
Key activates dash, etc... But does not engage starter or solenoid, i.e. no click, etc...
Won't start.
Where to check suggestions?
Thx

So, I simply cleared codes with OBD unit. Car started right up.
Interesting that there were no DTC error codes that showed on the OBD scan unit.
Yet, I cleared them and car started.
Now the "Urgent SRS Airbag unit" error still displays on the dash.
What's the fix for that?
I've heard that can be a deal breaker.
I'm off to a mechanics with the right scan tool.
Thx

You need vida to clear that code. And even then I am unsure if the SRS module needs re-programming/EEPROM clearing.

Not sure if airbags went off?

There is a place on eBay that can reset the SRS module but if the trigger switch for the airbag is not reset you’ll be in the same situation.

Thanks for the reply Krons and Dikidera.
So, I do plan to get a guy with the ability to reset the SRS module.
You mention I should reset the trigger switch.
Is this a physical location?
Where might that be?
Thx!
