07' 3.2 Intermittent leak on plastic hose fitting

Post by wiabis »

Last winter I changed the radiator and main coolant hoses on my 07' 3.2 after they began failing at 150k. All was good for a few months, and then I started getting some intermittent coolant leaking past that needlessly complicated upper plastic fitting on coolant hose #30774513

Sometimes I'll stop and it's dripping coolant at an alarming rate, after I reach in and burn my hand messing around with the hose and open/close the fitting it's fine for hours/weeks/months until it happens again. This is not a viable long term solution.

Given the intermittency of this leak (i.e. must be pretty small) it seems like there must be something out there akin to teflon tape or liquid sealant that I could build up within the connection in-situ and never have to think about again vs getting in there again and replacing the whole hose.

Wisdom? Ideas?
