I bought caliper kits (boot and seal) for my 2007 XC70.
I'm flushing out the old brake fluid and busted a bleed nipple on a rear caliper so as I'm drilling out the old nipple I thought I'd check the cylinder and piston, give it a good clean. Couldn't fit the piston back in without damaging the boot, hence the one kit, and seeing as they are affordable enough, bought kits for the other 3 calipers, just in case...or, why not.
The ones I bought from Rock Auto are made by BBP, part # 15270K and 15271K.
The boot and seal are way too large for the caliper on my car. I double checked I hadn't made a mistake but that's what's listed sure enough.
I called BBP direct and they confirmed those are the right parts but admitted there's always a chance the crews assembling the parts made a mistake. He said Carlson had the same kits with a similar number except the K.
He suggested AC Delco as an OE manufacturer but it looks like they don't do rebuild kits.
Anyone buy rebuild kits for their car lately? Any problems with the fit?
Looks like I'll have to put in one new caliper, but then now it should be all around, even though the others are still ok for a few more years...
