It is the plastic knob in a plastic valve body on the front of the throttle body. If you plan to adjust it, mark it so you can return to the original setting if you find you have made things worse.
You may just have a vacuum leak somewhere.
Paper manuals for 240 (very similar to 740) Volvos used to be common in bookstores.

Yes, no knob there. 740 is different. I will try to find something about A/F adjustment.
