Hi,
Pretty simple question. I can't believe the key doesn't actuate a physical mechanism to unlock the bloody trunk.
Not a crisis, I can get in, but I'm flummoxed...
Is there a way to open the trunk on an S70 with the battery unhooked?

Are you using the master or valet key?
Is it possible that you have the trunk
“locked out” with the disconnect feature?

There is. Key on trunk, turn 1/4 clockwise…
Pop!
If that doesn’t work, the lock rod has fallen off the key or latch end
