Columba I thought wasn't anything special. After all, it came on the wave of directional wheels that hit the car market in the 1990s. A large number of models got directional swirl wheels, even higher trim Saturns... Oldsmobuicks also. But now that those cars are mostly off the roads, Columbas just stand out. They're just a classic, rare look now. I love em.

That said, I think Volans would be my pick. Seven spokes is the perfect number.

Ares (very DTM Audi-esque)
Atlantis
Columba ! (One of the great wheels)
Comet - slightly related to Columba with 5 twisted spokes
Perfo - a modernization of the Columba
Telus - the XC P2 wheel
Titan.

So many wheel designs (not just Volvo) are derivative of previous ones from Mercedes, BBS, Audi, etc.

Volan is nice, I missed that one.

What I love about the Columba is that it looks like the hub of a wooden airplane propeller, cast in aluminum. The blades twist just like a propeller does. Just very graceful and dynamic.

5 and 7 are the magic number of spokes. Telus breaks that rule in an Audi-esque way.

Hydra and the 240 Turbo wheel... Virgo? Also nice. I love the mega rare Volvo BBS copies. C70, 780 OE maybe?

Except it doesn't have that nice concave dish in the center where the lug holes are.

That’s why Perfos beat them.

6 is perfect , 7 is imperfect.
