2005 XC90 Fuel Tank cover cracks...

Post by cn90 »

So,

The 2005 XC90 with 130K miles has had these cracks in the fuel tank cover for years (I bought it in 2014, 10 years ago).
Zero fuel leak, but I have a few questions...

BTW, the other discussion is on seweedspeed forum:

Questions:

1. I assume this is all cosmetic, correct?

2. What is the main fuel tank made from: metal or plastic?

3. Any recall from Volvo?

4. With so much labor involved to replace the fuel tank and the cost, I tend to leave this alone:
- Not sure if Volvo still makes it new vs
- Used $400-$500 on eBay, and not sure when the "new" fuel tank cover will crack again.

Attached is my 2005 XC90 fuel tank cover cracks so you can see...

Any advices would be appreciated...
