Throttle Body part number confusion - 02 XC70 Topic is solved

So, in the end I re-installed the original after cleaning and a little light oil on the bushes/bearings of the internal electric motor. I tested the original, the loaner and the aftermarket low miles unit. The first 2 were both cleaned or as I called it 'serviced'. They all operated the identical way when the ignition was turned on and also off, so i made the decision to install the original. That way the cleaned loaner can be returned and I'll keep the low miles aftermarket Vemo unit as a spare for either this car or my son's 06 XC70.

I reinstalled it with the usual stupid fight to get the badly designed intake tube (if fouls on the starter solenoid). I have started the car a couple of times and it ran smoothly with no grinding from the throttle flap. I hope to get time tomorrow to take the car for a short run to see if all the codes have been fixed or what comes back. My feeling is the TB is good and just needed a clean removing all the oil and grime. Apparently the motors in the TB can get oil in them which makes them inconsistent in operation which is I guess a high mileage requirement. I'll update finally when the car has been run either way how it goes.

Final thing, it looks like the TB's are universal with no software required. Only thing needed is possibly an adaptives reset.
