I have never seen that style of clamp before, and definitely never on a Volvo. However, it looks like it may work the same way as most pipe clamps. The part facing downwards looks like a hex head. Try turning it with maybe a 7mm socket.

Looks OEM and high quality. I would reuse that over junk from Lowes. I use oetiker clamps , dual, on those connections.

I need to get a better look at it but I could have sworn there was no nut. Which doesn’t make much sense with the rest of the clamp. But it looked like what you would turn is one piece. It might just be dirty and needs a little elbow grease.
But I’ve never seen this type of clamp elsewhere so it’s mystifying.

Looks like it take a regular socket. Just a fancy housing for the screw drive like any typical hose clamp.

Better than average clamp in the photo. It has grooves instead of slots. Slots can tear the hose.

I think you may be right. Just with the age it looks like It’s a bit worn with age but on the other car could see the screw drive at least. I gotta find my 7mm now lolMoVolvos wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 11:33.coop wrote: ↑24 Sep 2024, 09:46 I need to get a better look at it but I could have sworn there was no nut. That's an interesting one. Post a few nice photos like the current ones after removal so we can see how it functions.
