I just bought a 2011 S40. Before buying, I entered the VIN into kbb and it came up as a T5 R-Design. At that time I thought it's the result so I took it as that.
But now I realize it's only a selector (dropdown box), which means T5 R-Design may just be the default first value in the list, and I'm supposed to choose what's appropriate for my car in order to get kbb's estimate value.
So how can I know if I have R-Design or just plain T5?
Do we have a page with "basic maintenance item" for turbo? This is the first turbo car I have (I've had a 850 for many years). Turbo is nice to drive but I don't know what could fail and what maintenance I should do on top of the normal stuff for normally aspirated cars.
I have carfax report with many maintenance item, but they're mostly routine items: inspect fluid, change brake, check wiper, CV boot, coolant etc. There's nothing specifically about the turbo or oil trap or some seal (I've heard of something called rear main seal, is that a cause of concern for a 95K miles car?).
Which S40 do I have? Maintenance for a turbo car?

OK I've since found out that if a car is R-Design, it will have an R-Design badge in the front grille.
My question then is only what are the checks/maintenance items for a turbo engine?
