Happy new year everyone,
I have an issue with my Volvo where upon accelerating there is a fairly loud grinding/vibrating noise that appears to be coming from the front passenger side of the engine area. The car is also chattery (small klunking noises) when going over even very small bumps. I was so convinced the struts were causing all of this as the car was also on lowering springs when I bought it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Eric

I'm having a very similar issue on my 2005 xc90 2.5t awd. Did you figure this out? I'm thinking it's the cv axle support/carrier bearing grinding from the engine shifting around from shot motor mounts. I know your post is old, but wanting to hear from people who have solved their issue!

Developed a huge wheel hop all of a sudden on the 08 C30 T5 2.0 M66 passenger side not long after changing the axle. So bad and at lower speeds we had to towed it from VA back to NC. Decided to redo the control arm bushings with poly beside the lower ball joint. Hopping is gone but now has a grinding noise. Been sitting as it needs a clutch also. All this happened about the sametime.
We installed KONI's before COVID and reused the FOMOCO strut bearing as they are supposed to last the life of the vehicle. Have a set to install to see if that maybe the cause. I've done a bunch of research and there was not one specific item as the cause and many post and forums had no remedy.
Had a 20% Sale and was $88 before inflation.
