When was the last C70 coupe?

Post by BlackBart »

They’re the same chassis as the FWD 850?
Were they all retractable hardtops, or did they make a fixed coupe as well?

Thanks -

P80 based until 2004 with a soft top.
( LOOSELY based - C70 ‘verts and coupes
are very different than P80 wagons and sedans
in a multitude of ways… )

Then the retractable hardtops hit.
Whole different car.
Not sure when the last ones shipped.

Wikipedia says 1996–2013, P80: 1996–2005 (1st generation), P1: 2006–2013 (2nd generation) but they generally report Euro spec production years, which generally are one year before North American models. Notice "generally" is doing a lot of work here.

From memory, there was a skipped year when they were not offered here, and thanks to @BEJinFbk's post I think it's 2005. Then P1 in 2006 until the end, which were vaguely similar in appearance to the P80 C70, but are easily spottable with their P1 headlights.

Those are easy to find. Go into Volvo parking lot and the turning radius was so large no one could get them turned around. To get them out

53 code 2002 manual, working up the courage to put a clutch in it. Most definitely not a convertible.

I usually go with VIN not when "you" purchased it.

I been personally keeping C70 with 40 series same year aka 2004 when they did bring newer model series on both model series.

Always loved the coupe shape, just don't fit in them. Fairly rare up here. Convertibles are way more common. They are only soft tops for P80 chassis. P1 version (2005-13) were hardtop retractibles. Again don't fit and virtually no trunk space left with top down. Both fail the golf bag test!
